Industrial equipment and plant supplier, Cavpower, sought out heavy-duty shelving solutions from BAC Systems when opening a new Component Centre in South Australia. The Cavpower Component Rebuild Centre, recently opened by South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill, handles all repairs to components for local Caterpillar Earthmovers and Mining Machines.

BAC devised a heavy-duty storage solution with additional heavy-duty drawers which are capable of supporting up to 500kg. This was all mounted within the “BAC 77” structure, forming a hybrid storage system, just over 4 metres long, for each individual work bay. Beneath the heavy-duty shelving is a row of BAC Trolleys with Drawers. These provide individual storage locations for smaller components in a safe and secure manner.

Cavpower aimed to minimise the amount of walking required within the workshop in order to maximise output. The BAC Technical Sales Representative who assisted in the design of the layout turned to the flexible “BAC 77” system for the solution due to its ability to create such hybrid racking, shelving and drawer systems in the single structure.
