BAC Trolleys in an Automotive Workshop – Choosing the Trolley with the Blue Diamond

BAC Trolleys in an Automotive Workshop – Choosing the Trolley with the Blue Diamond

What every mechanic and automotive technician wants is a reliable toolbox that holds their complete tool set, opens reliably, and can survive a few bumps from a car in many cases. At BAC Systems, we don’t wish to brag, but there have been times when the car comes off second-best!

BAC Systems manufactures Trolleys for storing your tools in workshops, offering different sizes and specifications to suit your application. BAC Trolleys, colloquially known by many as a toolbox or a roll-cab, are designed for shock-loads and are built with high yield strength steel and large diameter bearings. This makes them tough, able to withstand more hard knocks and punishment than many of your typical imported toolboxes.

There are two easy ways to identify BAC Systems Trolleys: the first is the well-known Blue Diamond on the front of the cabinet – the second is that BAC Drawers roll more smoothly and reliably than nearly every other cabinet available. Actually, many people notice the smoothness of the drawers before the logo because Australians are hands-on people who get right into work. BAC Trolleys are built for Australians.

BAC offers many sizes of trolleys, and there are reasons for this. An example is the narrow but deep BAC TL Series of Trolley. The TL Series is easily manoeuvrable through narrow spaces, less than 600mm wide (such as between hoists and vehicles), but the depth of the drawer ensures you have a significant capacity to store a large number of tools. At the other end of the spectrum, a BAC TW Series Trolley is both deep and wide. Some mechanics almost live out of their toolboxes and need space for everything. A TW series Trolley offers you that space, along with genuine strength that ensures that drawers and bearings don’t fail for many decades to come. In the middle of our size range, you will find the TM Series of Trolley. This unit combines the good width of the drawer with a shallower pull, making it quick and easy to see the full contents of your drawer at a glance. Storing plenty of tools with quick access is an important feature for a busy technician.

Height is also a factor that divides opinion, and so BAC Systems offers choice here as well. BAC Trolleys can be low enough to fit beneath a workbench or so high that you can only see into the top drawer – we have an extensive range available. We can also offer solid benchtops up to 43mm thick on top of the BAC Trolley, in case you want to turn your BAC Trolley into a mobile workbench or mount a vice.

BAC offers a range of different castor wheels for differing heights and weight ranges. Where a toolbox is not to be moved about, BAC Systems also recommends removing the wheels and instead fitting levelling feet or building an Automotive Workstation solution; however, individual mechanics may want the flexibility of being able to change work bay or even workshop. So we offer castors with wheel diameters up to 150mm.

In terms of strength, if your toolbox has the Blue Diamond on the front, you know you are in good hands. Our BAC Trolleys are built to be strong and operate smoothly for many decades, even in the toughest workshops.
